Heather has a diverse collection of experience working with both children and adults. Upon completing her undergraduate degree at Albion College, Heather was an elementary teacher and eventually became a school behavioral interventionalist. Later, she decided to pursue her Master in Social Work at the University of Oklahoma. During her time in grad school, Heather served as a graduate research assistant collecting data to support youth aging out of the foster care system. During this time Heather also completed internships focused in domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, and trauma. Through her grad school experience Heather held jobs at a local domestic violence shelter and with Project YES (supporting Military Families pre/post-deployment). Upon completion of her MSW she worked as a therapist in addictions and co-occurring disorders with both teens and adults. Heather now works as the Director of Camp Autumn. Heather has over seven summers of camp experience and camp is her personal passion. Mixing therapy and the healing community formed at camp has been a dream of Heather’s since she was in her teens.
